Bike and/or Bus to the Loppet!

What: VIP tent for people who use active transportation. The Bike Walk Ambassador Program will be hosting a heated tent and providing free bike parking, music, warm drinks and more!

When: Loppet Saturday - February 6, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Where: Lagoon end of the Mall (Calhoun Parkway/Knox Avenue just north of Lagoon)

Who: People who walk and bus or bike to the Loppet, participate in the Loppet Bicycle Commuter Incentive programs, Bike to Benefits or the Penn Ice-Cycle Loppet.

Why: Promote active transportation in the winter by encouraging people to bike or extend a walking or biking trip with a bus ride to the City of Lakes Loppet.

Ride Metro Transit Free: All Metro Transit buses can accommodate bikes. There are many busses that go through Uptown and you can take the 7 to get to the start line in Wirth Park on Sunday. Print out a Go Greener Pass at www.cityoflakesloppet.com and plan your trip at www.metrotransit.org.

How: Lock your bike at the corral right in front of the VIP tent, show a bus transfer or participate in the Penn Ice-Cycle Loppet. Come in and warm up, grab some food and relax!

• Bicycle trails are plowed in the winter! The Midtown Greenway, Cedar Lake trail, Kenilworth Trail and the entire Grand Rounds are great to ride on!
